User Guide & Setup

1

Linux Desktop Setup

1. Permissions

After downloading the `swiftsay_linux` binary, you must give it executable permissions:

chmod +x swiftsay_linux

2. Global Shortcut

To dictate into any app, we recommend mapping a "Custom Shortcut" in your GNOME/KDE settings to run the binary. Most users use Super + V.

3. Usage

Press your shortcut to start recording. A small overlay will appear. Press again (or click stop) to finish. The transcribed text is automatically pasted into your active window.

2

Android Mobile Setup

1. Installation

Download the `.apk` file. You may need to enable "Install from Unknown Sources" in your browser or file manager settings to complete the installation.

2. Permissions

The app requires Microphone access for recording and Accessibility Services if you want it to paste text directly into other apps.

3. Floating Widget

Enable the "Floating Button" in the app settings. This allows you to trigger SwiftSay while inside ChatGPT, Slack, or any other mobile application.

First-Time Authentication

When you first open either app, log in using your SwiftSay AI account. Once logged in, the app will automatically fetch your scoped API tokens so you never have to deal with manual keys.
